Southwark Behind thick burgundy curtains hide an impressive mahogany bar, flickering votives, servers in long white aprons--and an upscale "Sideways" clientele who comes for the conversation, not to watch ESPN (no TVs here). The chef/co-owner--who hails from incredibly popular nearby Django--places a patent emphasis on locally raised ingredients, while her co-owner/bartender husband prides himself on low markups on stellar smaller wines. |
Standard Tap When Standard Tap opened its doors in December 1999, our goal was simple: to create a neighborhood tavern that featured great beer and wholesome food. With that in mind, we offer a draft-only beer selection that highlights the vast array of styles crafted by breweries located in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware. Our food menu both complements the beer and expands the notion of what pub food can be. We use only the best available produce, poultry, meats and seafood — much of it from area farms and local vendors – to create fresh, seasonal dishes. |
The Foodery At our two locations in Philadelphia we offer a selection of over 800 American and Imported Craft Beers for your enjoyment. Available by the single bottle or with our make your own six pack deal; take any six beers and save ten percent off the single prices. We also offer deli sandwiches, snacks, and a variety of chocolates and cheeses. |
The Trestle Inn For over one hundred years, traveling salesmen, circus performers, immigrants, factory and rail workers, cab drivers and downtowners have come to the southeast corner of 11th and Callowhill to cut loose. From the hustle bustle of the railroad age to the decay of the post-industrial era, patrons could be guaranteed a good drink, a good bite and a good time under the cover of the Reading Railroad viaduct. The Trestle Inn of today evokes the spirit of these bygone days with a special nod to the liberation in the 60s and 70s. |
